i usea lil of both. i like the coil springs becuz they are easier to set and most of my long springs are larger than my coil springs and are not neccessary for coons
check your state regulations, but why mess around with the small traps like the 1.75 or the #2 use the biggest trap that you can legally use for coyotes. Think about it the larger the jaw spread the better chance you have in him stepping on the pan. Remember this is just my opinion but why give yourself a handy cap by using small traps, you want to catch him don't you. Remember check your state regulations on max jaw spread on dry ground and then use what ever you feel good about. All I know is that since I moved up to a bigger trap my misses have gone down. God Bless.
i haven't used them yet. literally just got them. i have had them pull out of my 2 coils but i can barely set these 4 coils with my hands. they have a lot more force than my others. im doubting a big yote would pull out of the trap. more likely to pull out the stake which i havent had happen yet. Knock on wood!
1.75 4x4 coils or #3's. I like offset jaws and i laminate them and 4 coil them. All my dirt hole sets are dual purpose for yote and bobcat. i have longsprings...just more to cover and haul around.
