My buddies got a 2000 jeep cherokee that we just use for muddin and crawlin and last weekend we got stuck BAD water over the hood and it quit runnin for a few days but we took out the spark plug and blew everything out ad changed the fuel cause it was really dirty with water but after this experience we are wantin to put a snorkel on it. We went to get some pvc pipe and cut a hole in the side of the hood and put some pipe over the air intake and the ru it up the side of the windshield and put an air filter on the air. Do we have the right idea here? we dont want to mess anything up even though it wouldnt really matter we just want to get it right the first time. Any help will be nice thanks!

That's how I made the snorkel for my Ramcharger. Just remember to silicon around where the tube goes onto the throttle body and around the wing nut that holds it down, and put a cover over the air filter so rain won't soak it. I used a cone shaped K&N, mainly because the way it was made it would hose-clamp to the pipe, and bolted a black plastic flower pot down over it upside down like a bell. It gets plenty of air from the bottom. Also locate it so that it's far enough away from the front tire so you won't sling mud up into it from underneath.
