every one is hog wold over a toyota but im here to tell ya when you ride in a 4x4 ranger with a 4.0 that toyota will seem like you was driving a low profile go cart with a 5 horse briggs and stratton tiller motor on it. and that ranger is cheaper to work on

Go for an 80's Cherolet.True they may get 8-12 miles a gallon...but who cares when all the chicks dig you,you never get stuck and you can fix your truck and eat a sandwhich at the same time!!!!

i just bought a 90 ranger w/the 2.9 liter eng and automatic tranny. the seller told me it has 62,000 miles on it and that's what the odometer reads. but judging from the way the truck sounds, i suspect it has more miles on it. i paid only $1850.00. it came with a short caps w/a trunk lid that you can open. i'm looking forward to building a homemade dog box. in a way though, except for putting up with dirty dogs and having a dirty car, using a car is more convienant. it's easier to let your dogs in and out than with a dog box.

Not to get anyones feathers ruffled, but....... I have seen fairly stock Yota's and Nissan's drive around full size trucks, but I realize that some of it was the driver. I have recently traded a Z-71 for a Nissan but have yet to take it hunting.

Someone said ford being cheaper to repair on than toyota? Maybe but for every 1 repair on a toyota you have to repair a ford 10 times. i love my tacoma its got almost 200,000 miles on it and ive never had a problem wih it and i can get about anywhere and its completely stock and i just have 31x10.5 all terrains on it. But ifi had my choice i would definiely go with an old Jeep CJ-5

I hate to say it but Ive owned (and built) a Chevrolet that would Drawf this one and my Toyota will go places my Chevys wouldnt even think about going. Ive seen mini Trucks run circles around full size trucks at some events. Ive owned all of them Nissan, Toyota, Chevy so I can give an opinion, unlike some. Let the Flame Fest Begin........

I'm not a Chevy guy, I'm Ford to the bone! My huntin truck is a 87' Toyota 4X4. But that Chevy pickup ya got there is a nice lookin truck, I think if I were to get a Chevy I would go with that body style.

I've had a ton of old chevies and loved em all. but as far as reliability, I hate to say, my 2000 nissan frontier has all of em beat. i've had to replace one blown radiator hose( at 130,000+), 2 batteries, and 2 battery cable ends. It had 36,000 when I bought it in 02, it now has 136,700. needless to say I am pleased with it. The difference in fuel mileage pays for the full coverage insurance!
