If you where a little closer I would take you hunting and put you on some coons but it is a little far away!

I'm from Savage, about 20 miles south of Sidney, and I have alot of good friends up in and around Malta. You could try looking up both Harms and Remmichs in the phone book and see if they have any coons-I bet they'd let you hunt. Towards Havre they have perfect coon habitat, but I'm not sure if there are any. If you go south to the Yellowstone, all along there is great coon hunting. mttdbowhunter, I've grown up in Sidney, and I probably know you, or know someone that does (lol)...do we have a coonhunting club or anything in Sidney? I've hunted coon before, but I'm wanting to do it with dogs now and would love some advice, esp since were from the same area!

Theres Pheasants and Ducks Unlimited, and quite a few people big game hunt but that I know of, no one coonhunts with dogs. We like to spotlight our coons, but I feel hunting with dogs would be more sportsmanlike. I don't have a dog, but I plan on getting a puppy this summer. I'm thinking Bluetick, but my minds not decided.
