i found a way to make the coon feed blocks you can screw in trees. coon fuzzion cost 16.00 for a small block you can make 30 of them for 20.00, this is how i did mine get crack corn 50# bag 5.00 /5 gal molasses 15.00 pour molasses in a pan heat at boil for 20 min or so mix in corn pour out in smaller plastic bucket drop in lag bolt let cool for a day or so gets rock hard.

Sounds like "peanut brittle" but corn brittle instead for coons. Being sweet, they'd prolly love it.
Great recipie.

What kind of bucket do you use? And have you have any problems with the lag screw breaking loose when you turn it into the tree?
Thanks for the idea

You could also use some of Lances Coon Potion on the final mix. I wonder how that would work?

ive tryed about 10 batches so far. ive done some research. you need to get the molasses up to 300 deg. almost to burning stage. it will stink. (my wife is still mad). then it will harden real good. if it is still sticky the next morning, it will fall of the bolt. how is every one else working out?

i also use ground up dog food. i just throw it in the blender. it makes a good paste when u add molasses. ive also found out that u have to boil the molasses long enough to get most of the water out. if you do it will set up just like a sucker. i dont grease any thing. if your molasses gets hot enough, when it set's up it will pop right out.
ps: dont forget to clean the blender with the pan's. or your wife might get as mad as mine did. lol. they will get over it thought!!!!!!
??????
where is everyone getting there molasses. its hard to find in tn.

you can add anything you want but keep in mind what your after ,low cost coon feeders that last loner than just buckets.and will bring coons in . and if you dont cook it hot and long it will look stringy. it wont harden , but there are good uses for it like that too,

I have been cooking this for months and the best way to make them is 30lbs of crack corn, 5gal molases, 5 packs of active yeast (to make it harden) and 3 quarts of peanut butter (use the creamy not chuncky) for smell and taste. I use a terkey cooker and cook the corn and syrup together for approx 20 min on high heat. Then I mix in the yeast and peanut butter. I'm getting 4-6 weeks out of mine!!
