Had a bark collar on my hound for a couple days. Noticed the spot where it contacted his neck had a greasy feel to it and it smells bad. Immediately took the collar off but it's still like that 2 days later and really seems worse. Doesn't seem sore, can't see any rub spots or wounds to the flesh. Any ideas what is going on and/or how I should treat it? Thanks for the help, still pretty new at this.

It sounds like it could be infected. I would give the hound a few days of penicillin or another antibiotic
