on Wednesday morning. He ate a little Thursday, but none Friday or today. He took a bad turn today. Now he can't stand. I think I'm going to lose him tonight.

sounds like coonhound paralysis,, it it is that it will pass in about two weeks you just have to nurse him alot and wait it out,,,

I just looked that up and it looks very similar. At this point though, he cannot even lift his head. He is getting cold. I had him in the garage, now he is inside. Trying to keep him warm.

I just looked that up and it looks very similar. At this point though, he cannot even lift his head. He is getting cold. I had him in the garage, now he is inside. Trying to keep him warm.


Our vet said he had a pretty bad case of heatworms, warned that treating might kill him. We had in on a slow kill - gave him doxy for 40 days before switching to Ivermectin. Also giving him Prednisone 20mg steroid.

Update - he is gone. Man I hate it. I really struggled over the idea of treating him due to the risk. My younger dogs are on Sentinel.
